When Doing the Right Thing Makes Life Harder
Day 19 - Grace Through Scripture
Hey friend 💛
Welcome back to Grace Through Scripture - A Real Life Bible Study!
Today’s reading is:
📖 Genesis 38:1 – 39:23
Let’s be honest...
Today’s reading feels a little like two completely different stories got placed side by side.
One chapter is messy family drama.
The next chapter follows Joseph as he tries to do the right thing and somehow ends up in prison.
If you’ve ever thought:
“God, I’m trying to do the right thing here... why is this getting harder?”
Then today’s reading is for you.
Today’s Encouragement
Maybe you’re doing your best to follow God right now.
Maybe you’re making good choices.
Trying to stay faithful.
Trying to walk with integrity.
And maybe life still feels hard.
Friend, don’t confuse difficulty with abandonment.
God has not left you.
The same God who was with Joseph in the pit, in slavery, and in prison is still with you.
Keep showing up.
Keep trusting.
Keep doing what is right.
God is working in ways you cannot yet see.

👉 Have you ever gone through a season where doing the right thing felt harder than doing the wrong thing?
I’d love to hear your story.
God bless you, my friend 💛
Keep learning, keep growing, and keep laughing when life gets weird.
